Sparkling Pear Cocktail
I just hosted my first Friendsgiving last weekend. We invited our closest friends over to share an early Thanksgiving meal with us. Everyone brought a side dish and we raised money to benefit No Kid Hungry. Whenever we have a large dinner party or get together, we always come up with a signature cocktail for the evening. After searching ideas on the internet, we couldn’t find exactly what I was envisioning, so we came up with our own. My husband and I did some taste testing (tough job but it had to be done) and we came up with this Sparkling Pear Cocktail.
It’s super easy, flavors are fall in a glass and made for the perfect cocktail before Thanksgiving dinner. One of my friends who shall remain nameless claimed that she wanted to bathe in it…so, I’m guessing she liked it. This will definitely be one we tuck away to make again, it was delicious! We also peeled and sliced ripe pears, placed them on a baking sheet, sprinkled them with sugar and used a kitchen torch to brûlée them. It was definitely a nice added touch and it made the garnish a yummy treat to eat. They had a beautiful crunch of sugar and the pears were perfectly sweet. Take the extra step, it’s worth it!

2 oz. Vodka
4 oz. Pear Juice
splash Lemon Juice
splash Sparkling Wine or sparkling water for non-alcoholic
Instructions
Peel and slice pears, sprinkle with sugar and brûlée until caramelized on a baking sheet, set aside. Mix 1 Tbs. sugar and 1 Tbs. cinnamon on a small, flat plate. Wet rims of glasses and dip in sugar mixture.
Add vodka, pear juice, splash of lemon juice and ice to a cocktail shaker and shake. Pour into a glass about 3/4 full, top with a splash of sparkling wine and a pear set on top with a toothbpick.
Notes
If you want to make it non-alcoholic, just add a splash of sparkling water instead of sparkling wine.
